  1. How do I turn on JavaScript in Netscape?

    To make sure that JavaScript is enabled In Netscape 4.7, click on the "Edit" menu at the top of the browser menu, then choose "Preferences." Under the "Advanced" tab, make sure that the "Enable JavaScript" box is checked. If it is not checked, click the empty box to enable JavaScript.

  2. Why does TDRS need to have a valid e-mail address?

    TDRS sends User ID and password information, system notifications, and e-mail help by e-mail messages.

  3. What does "Release Indicator" mean?

    "The State chooses one of three indicators to indicate to the viewer who may view the data. HHS Staff only means that HHS central office and regional staff (and the state itself) are permitted to view the data from this state, but not other states or the public.Other States means that both HHS staff and other states are permitted to view the data.Releasable to Public means that the State is ready to let the Department release the data so the general public is permitted to view the data. The Department may wait to release the data (e.g. until all states have indicated this status).

  4. How do I turn on JavaScript in Internet Explorer?

    To make sure that JavaScript is enabled in Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher, click on the "Tools" menu at the top of the browser window, then choose "Internet Options". Click on the "Security" tab, then click in the "Custom Level" button. Scroll down to the section called "Scripting". Verify that "Active scripting" is enabled. If it is not, then click the circle next to "Enabled." Click on the "OK" button, then choose "Yes." Click "OK" to close the second window. If you do not see the option to enable JavaScript, then update the Internet Explorer browser by going to http://www.microsoft.com/downloads and downloading the latest version of Internet Explorer.

  5. How do I get access to TDRS?

    Contact your TDRS Administrator, who can give you a User ID and password and decides what roles and actions a new user can have within TDRS.

  6. What is "Export Report Data"?

    The 'Export Report Data' button lets the user save the 'report data' in an an excel spreaddheet.

  7. How do I change my password?

    Click "My Profile" from the TDRS Main Menu. Click on "Change Password". Enter the current password, then the new password, and confirm by retyping the new password. Click the "Save New Password" button. The new password will be in effect the next time the user logs in to TDRS.

  8. What does "Submission Indicator" mean?

    "The State chooses one of three indicators to indicate to the viewer how reliable the data are. Initial means the first estimate or projection the state chooses to make available on the web site. Interim means the estimate or projection is based on more information than the initial estimate or projection, but is not yet part of the required quarterly report. Quarterly Report means the data is part of the required quarterly report submitted to the Department. It can still be updated after submission. "

  9. What browser should I use?

    Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher with JavaScript turned on is the recommended browser. Netscape Communicator 5.0 or higher with JavaScript turned on is also acceptable.

  10. How do I edit a user's assignments?

    To edit a user's permissions: Choose a user name from the list on the Administration page. Click on the Edit Existing User button. The next screen is similar to the Add New User page, except that the information is filled in already. The administrator can edit the user's name, e-mail address, and assigned roles. When finished, click on the "Save Assignment(s)" button.

  11. How do I add a user?

    To add a new user, Click on the Add New User button on the Administration page. Enter the users first name, last name, and e-mail address in the spaces provided. Choose the agency to which the user belongs from the drop down menu. Click on the Assign to Agency button. When the program assignments table appears, choose which role the user will have: Administrator, View Only, or None (for users no longer in the system). Click on the OK button.

  12. How do I delete a user?

    Choose a user name from the list on the Administration page. Click on the Delete Existing User button. A dialog box will pop up asking if you want to delete this user. If so, click on the "OK" button. If you do not want to delete this user, click on the "Cancel" button. Deleting a user does not remove him or her from the TANF server; it simply marks the user as deleted and denies him access to the TANF web. A user who has been deleted may be reinstated by the Administrator.

  14. What is the "Privacy Statement?"

    TDRS's privacy policy is clearly stated on the Privacy Policy Notice page. Electronically submitted information is maintained and destroyed pursuant to the Federal Records Act. Click on "Privacy" from the TDRS Home Page to read ACF's Privacy Policy Notice.

  15. What is the "Data Entry" role?

    "Data Entry" allows the user to view all available reports for their agency, as well as enter data into TDRS. They can not perform administrative functions.

  16. How can I change or add startum codes?

    If you are entering data into a Stratum form, there may be an additional screen asking you to enter the number of stratum in the form (you can have up to 100 stratums, labeled 0 to 99).If there is already data entered for the previous quarter, it will automatically use the same number of stratum, but if that data is missing, you can enter it. If you need to change the number of Stratum anytime during the fiscal year,  Please contact OFA to do so.

  17. How can I change my personal information?

    Go to the "My Profile" menu and click on "View Assignments & Change Your Personal Information". At the top of the page are entries for your First and Last name, as well as your e-mail address and phone number.

  18. What is the "View-Only" role?

    "View-only" allows the user to view all available reports for their agency. They can not do any data entry or administrative functions.

    "Administrator" allows the user to view all available reports for their agency, as well as perform administrative functions. They can not do any data entry unless they are at the State or Tribe level.

  20. Can I view data from another agency?

    If the data has been released to the public, it is available for viewing.

  21. How can I change my challenge question?

    To change your challenge question and answer, go to the "My Profile" menu. Click on "Change Password Challenge Question and Answer". In the "Challenge" box, type in a unique question, and in type the appropriate answer in the "Answer" box. Click on the "Save Q & A" button to complete the process.

  22. How can I see what my roles and are within the TDRS system?

    Go to the "My Profile" menu and click on "View Assignments & Change Your Personal Information". At the bottom of the page is a list of programs you are assigned to and what your role is for those programs.

  23. What is the TDRS Data Availability Chart?

    The TDRS Data Availability Chart lists the data items that are available for AFDC, Emergency TANF, and Final TANF data.

  24. What is a "Challenge Question"?

    A "challenge question" is used to validate a User ID in the case log in information is forgotten. A link on the Login Page allows the user to answer the challenge question. TDRS then sends the new User ID and password to the user's stored e-mail address.

  25. I forgot my password.

    Click on "Forgot Password?" on the TDRS Login Page. Answer the Challenge Question. TDRS will send a new password by email.

  26. Why do I need an ID?

    The User ID and password together identify the user to TDRS. Access and available actions are linked to the User ID and password.

  27. What is the purpose of "Select Reporting Criteria"?

    The 'Select Reporting Criteria' screen allows the user to enter the different reporting periods, select reporting modes, and select Data Items where applicable. Selection criteria must be made in sequential order.
